I have recently become familiar with the possibilities and sales potential of Foamex. I am really impressed with how easy it is to cut and work with. You can fabricate just about any shape with it with a little super glue.
One of the things I find so attractive about Foamex is it could very well save your potential customer from having to go to ebay for a sign. Throw a bit of monomeric vinyl on it and you have yourself a quick economical alternative to the ACM tray sign.
Of course your layout and design work will have to be free to compete with ebay prices, but the satisfaction you get from helping a desperate customer now and then will be worth it for weeks to come. They may even allow you to put your name on the lower right corner to get your company name going viral.
    Foamex is the future!

    It gets even better…

I’ve discovered a couple of fonts you can use to create that classic "handcrafted" look to your work. One is called Brush script, the other Olde English. Both impart an air of quality to what would otherwise be a plain looking sign 😕

You know…… Those 2 fonts could very well sell the whole project for a guy. Thanks for the tip.
Another little trick is to paint out the background with a light blue from poundland, then when you fit the sign and it buckles, it looks like the ocean….Another quality unique to foamex.

Don’t forget to leave the plastic on one side, that way if you get the job to re-sign the shop you can just turn the foamex board over and reuse it!
