  • tape to hold panels – recommendations?

Posted by John Stevenson on 9 August 2006 at 09:35

    Hi

we’re doing a lot of track-side advertising boards for a football club.

the adverts vary in length from 13ft to 33 ft and we;re doing them in 8ft Euroflute (Corex) panels, so each advert is more than one board.

They slide into top and bottom rails on a dwarf wall.

Our plan is just to join them with tape down the back when they are being inserted to the rails.

Question is – what sort of tape to use?

    John

Duct tape? What about vinyl? I assume it’s only to stop the panels moving apart.

    Yes

just to hold the panels together, not under and pressure but exposed to weather for a year or maybe 2

    Double sided carpet tape 😀
We put up a new hairdressing shop sign at 7am this morning and I forgot the tape to butt and hold the panels together with :drama:

    ……B&Q to the rescue ! 😀

we do a very similar thing, the carpet tape can be ok but any water and it really weakens, the best stuff by miles is what I call "toffee tape" europoint sell a very called corribind and its excellent.

out of interest what club is it you do? we do a fair few of the Scottish clubs.

    cheers
