    Hi all,

Ive run out of ink on one pot and i cant get anymore until tuesday. The machine is driving me mad with constant beeping!

is it ok for me to switch the machine off for a few days? I dont want to tape up the cartridge and then re-insert it because the machine does a clean every 6 hours or so whether im there or not and i dont want it sucking an empty cart. This is what caused my problem from the last episode (i think).

So, is it ok for short term guys?

    cheers
    Dave.

Hey bud I shut it off for 5 days and never had a problem I probably wouldnt go more than that cause you don’t want the heads to dry out if you want to put a little bit of cleaning solution in the capping station so it insures the head won’t dry out.

    hope it helps

Can you not switch it off during the day and back on again at night to let it clean?

No problem switching it off for a few days, you may have to do a head clean to clear a few nozzles.
The older machines don’t have the auto clean cycles like the newer machines so mine can go upto 3 days without a clean of printing.
It also shouldn’t try to run a cleaning cycle while it knows a cartridge is empty.
