Does anyone here own one of the Swiss Q Print machines? I’d like to know what you like and dislike about the machine. Also what configuration you have and if anyone has a 4 x CYMK setup in their machine.

    Hey James that would be good. Has he got a new model or an older model?

    I haven’t found anyone to date who has had problems with their machines.

    Well I wasn’t going to comment on this post any further but then I decided I would I share the way suppliers take to good old honest posts.

    Shortly after writing my comments in reply to Jason’s comment I was hunted down by the UK sales manager for SwissQ Stephen Pridham who made every effort to get in touch with me and find out why I was so called slating there product. (He found me by searching my name and finding me on linkedin…)

    What I don’t understand is why not spend your efforts trying to find out who the un happy client is and try to put it right rather than spending your time unproductively trying to find out who I am.

    So I had two phones messages from Stephen both calls were taken by my receptionist and on both occasions a message taken, both messages flash up on my screen no matter where I am so I was fully aware this guy was trying to get in touch with me. What really got on my nervous and got me steaming was his second message which was recorded by my reception staff as follows;

    "He called with regards to a comment you have left on a website and advised that legal action will be taken if does not have contact with you"

    Upon calling him I got an almost aggressive nature and had to stop him a few times and even talk over him as he wouldn’t give me a chance to talk. Now if I’m not mistaken the first thing you would want to establish is who your talking to and secondly find out what influence this person might have in the industry before you go shooting your mouth off.

    Now I’m not bad mouthing SwissQ for one second, I really like there new gear and think it could possibly be a product we look at in the future, as a flatbed user myself surly Stephen would want to try and have me onside rather than fight against me. Anyone who know me will also know I’m currently looking at Zund machines as a finishing solution, after reading he is the UK manager for them, I will quickly be focusing my efforts towards a rival brand.

    Anyway to cut a long story short I told Stephen that my comment was nothing but the truth, the comment I posted was in relation to a machine that swissQ had installed, suddenly Stephen memory was jogged and he instantly knew what machine I was talking about. He quickly made it clear that this had nothing to do with him. I find it difficult to comprehend that if you only have 17 machine installed in the UK surely you would know what issues each of these machines have had if any! Why would you need me to clarify? I don’t work for SwissQ and if I did, there is NO way in hell I would risk damaging the name of such a prestigious brand like you did following your phone conversation….When your selling machine in excess of 200k you need to watch what you say and do…Maybe SwissQ need to employ someone who actually understands the print industry and isn’t merely worried about being in a job!

    In not so many words Stephen was trying everything he could to get me to remove my post and he kept insisting the Swiss were breaking his balls and trying to get a resolution to why this comment was posted. I told him several times, "Get the swiss to call me directly and I will tell them who the client was that said they had problems with the machines and I would also like to give them an honest feedback on the kind of people they employ to represent there brand here in the UK. He kept going on and on and saying you run a business and how would you feel if someone put a comment up about you, my simple reply was "If i messed up I would put it right..simple as!"

    I think what ultimately got on my tits was how he claimed he knew how UKSIGNBOARDS worked and for some bizarre reason he thought the boards were a place where big manufacturers were in cahoots with the boards owners…..Anyone whose been on these boards for a considerable amount of time will know how independent these boards are and how unbiased the posts are on here…..

    In summary to all this my advice would be you read the T&C of the boards before you start getting on you awfully high horse and thinking you can take legal action against me, and if you do take legal action be sure to give me some notice so I can buy a new suit….I’m fed up of corporate giants thinking they can throw there weight around. Don’t forget one thing if it wasn’t for people like me spending shed loads of money on equipment you guys wouldn’t be in the positions you are today, you know very well when your dealing with the kinds of equipment your sell your market is already very small.

    So Mr Pridham the next time you think you can bully someone, take a couple of minutes to try and establish what consequence your childish, bullying and aggressive attitude might have. I hope this Swiss are reading this too, and if are feel free to get in touch! If I do get a chance to get over to Fespa I will make an effort to come and see you personally because I’ve got nothing to hide or beat around the bush about!
