Surface Print Ltd goes digital
Wallpaper manufacturer Surface Print Ltd today announced their purchase of a HP LX3000 Latex printer and a HP LX260, bringing digital printing to the fore at their family run company. Based in Lancashire, the traditional home of wallpaper manufacturing, Surface Print Ltd is one of only a handful of wallpaper manufacturers left in the UK and they specialise in trade printing.
The purchase of the new LX3000, is in addition to the existing traditional printing machines at the premises, and will enable them to produce one off and bespoke digitally printed wallpapers for interior designers and specialist surface print designers. The LX260 was ordered along side the HP LX3000 to produce design samples. The HP Latex printers will arrive at the beginning of November and they have purposely built a new digital suite to house the two new printers.
Surface Print Ltd is known for producing the best quality wallpapers worldwide and is the only one in the UK left still producing flock wallpapers. They produce a variety of finished wallpapers including holographic, foils, embossed, flock and more.
Abigail Watson, sales executive and 3rd Generation Watson at the factory explains; “Lancashire is renowned in the UK for producing fine grade wallpapers and at Surface Print Ltd, we pride ourselves in producing only the finest. Some of our machines are solidly built from cast-iron and will run for years. We believe in manufacturing only the best quality grade wallpapers and we looked at a few machines to help us with our ambition to digitally manufacture printed wallpapers and bespoke surface prints. CWE Solutions introduced us to the HP Latex 3000, which was the winner in the end. It can produce everything we want it to and more and will keep us ahead of the game, it’s solidly built and we’re very confident it fits in with our fleet beautifully. CWE Solutions helped us with procuring samples and were there to offer advice and assistance all along the purchase decision-making process. We’re really looking forward to having it delivered and up and running as soon as possible.”
The printer, which made its debut at FESPA 2013, offers all the quality of print associated with HP Latex but with industrial speeds of up to 77sqm per hour for indoor/up-close use and up to 120sqm per hour for outdoor/distance viewing jobs. It is capable of printing onto a wide range of substrates including wallpapers, textiles, banners, self adhesive vinyl and more.
