supplier please of wall swing signs?
Morning all
Have to do a couple of signs that come out from wall at right angle to wall. Have seen some that are swing signs aand others that are rigid, they look like they have been secured to the wall by 2 pieces of right angle brackets, 1 either side of the sign.
Anyway, looked in grafityp and roto signs, and they come in around £60 each by the time you add carriage and vat. Could I use something like LE BOARD ? You can buy an 8 x 4 3mm sheet for around £50 which would allow you to make 12 @ 600×400.
Any advice ? :doh:

Bob, I’m not sure what this Le Board stuff is like but the only 3mm sheet materials I could suggest that you could do that with would be either dibond/reynobond, solid pvc or polycarb. At the size you mentioned I think all would be up to the job although the pvc is the cheapest.

Is solid pvc/polycarb the same as forex/foamex ?
My first thought was to use forex 5mm but a lot of people on these boards seem to dis it for exterior use, warps etc.

HI,
We use both 5mm foam and di bond, cut them to size, round the corners and stick two eylets in them, have had no problems with any of them so far.

Have plenty of 5mm forex/foamex will try that. Just wasnt too sure what to use

Bob, Solid PVC is not the same as Foam PVC etc, it’s a much more dense plastic and heavier too. Polycarb is about the same weight but virtually indestructible material. If you’re going to use it for a swing sign then weight is important because otherwise it will swing about like crazy in the wind and you need to be careful how you attach your hooks/links because foam pvc will wear out pretty quick and may drop off on some passer by’s head 😉
Foam pvc is fine outdoors normally but the colours are not very good in the sunlight.Nigel
