Hi, I know I have asked this question before and I passed the job on to somebody else in the end, but does anybody know of a supplier who can supply vinyl that will stick to the rocker cover of an engine, most of the vinyls I have looked at are good up to 110degrees, but I was hoping for 200-300.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try 3M, Bracknell.
Worked sub-contract for them back in the days when they supplied the stickers for the Apollo thingy that landed on the moon.
If they withstood those temps, they´ll withstand anything.
They also do (or most certainly did at one time) vinyl for stickers on satellites.

    Hi There,

It wont be a Vinyl 851 is a cast vinyl, Vinyls melting point is around that temperature , check the spec on http://www.orafol.de for Oracal 351 polyester and see what it works up to , if not Ritrama do a self adhesive aluminium foil that should work , its designed for lables on engines etc.

    Hope that helps

my supplier told us that the 851 would be good up to around 300 degrees and we have used it many, many times without any problems. we have use it on motorcycle exhausts and car exhaust which get extremely hot so we know it works and works well!!

OK , in that case glad it works , spec sheets says working temp is up to 110dg adhered to Aluminium , over 200dg ang 851 being a cast vinyl will return to its original state ie Liquid.
If it works it works !!! just trying to help.
