I can highly recommend UNIVERSAL – the boxes are very sturdy & well finished.

Not the cheapest – but do compare well to others, and whom I buy from most of the time
They do however ‘surcharge’ for Scotland as they deliver by their own trucks…on smaller items it’s cheaper if you can entrust it to a carrier (with mixed results).

Like Dave I would have said Universal, I have always found them to be pretty good. Try doing a search as you may get other suppliers names thrown up quicker that way.

Again I will only use Universal, top quality and very good on pricing.
I have a 5500 x 650mm sitting in my workshop, don’t know what to do with the bloody thing, If any one is interested in a deal give me a shout.

I wouldn’t entrust it to a carrier – nowadays it’s virtually impossible to get anything delivered undamaged unless it’s delivered by a suppliers own trucks. In my experience TNT are the worst offenders (maybe it;s just my local distribution centre that are at fault) – I have written and complained to them in the past (TNT) and have gotten nowhere. Now I just vote with my feet and avoid them like the plague. With a bit of luck they’ll go out of business and the void will eventually be filled by companies that can provide a service that avoids damaging goods (hot)

I know Cherwell do them but not sure about delivery north of the border

Phil – as I said…mixed results with carriers.
Several boxes – as single items – perfect. Then thought I’d try it with 5 of them in one go…one dented with a panel broken. OK, the panel maybe cost me £10 to replace and the dent wen to the top where nobody would ever see it…it was solely as a result of the £high carriage for the inconvenience of living in Dundee…might as well be the moon. 🙄
I’ve had numerous discussions with universal regarding the costs and it’s just ‘business’ at near to cost – it’s their own truck & driver normally – but anything on the East coast is a special trip…as nobody waaaaaay up here buys from them…(as the carriage is too high? Hmmm?)
I’ve tried various other companies for boxes – but none as yet are quite as good quality, in fact, I was quite disappointed with some…almost ‘budget’ in construction…but not in price. So I’ve just had to pass the charge on to the customers when I can…can’t really afford to lose £70 or £80 profit due to ‘personal delivery’ on a small box that might only cost £80 on it’s own!
