    Hi all,

    I’ve got a SummaCut D60. That I purchased back in 2001.

It appears that my SummaCut D60 has a fault is its internal power supply circuit board. When I connect the power cable and switch it ON, nothing happens … ie: fan does not run and the display is blank. However, after about 20 minutes, it comes alive and the cutter operates as it normally would. I can send cut jobs to it and it works perfectly.

So, it looks like a power supply issue.
Has anyone else here had similar problems with their Summa cutter? Is this a known fault with the D60 or any of the Summacut range?

I have been in touch with Summa Support in Belgium, and they told me that their UK support partner is ART Systems in Nottingham. I’ve spoken to ART systems and they have the board in stock, but however they are unable to sell the part directly to me, they have told me I’ll need to order the part through an authorized distributor/seller. I bought the cutter from signwizard, but they don’t sell Summa cutters any-more?

Anyone know where I can order this part from? The Summa part number is: 399-921 .

    Much appreciated. Declan

sounds like a dry solder joint and i would not buy a board with out that being checked out first.
if not yourself i would get a friendly electronics engineer to have a look.

as chris says, if you’re comfortable prodding and poking around inside the machine, and are competent with a soldering iron, it can’t do any harm to check over the main solder joints etc on the main boards, wouldn’t advise doing the same with any computery looking psb’s though,

if not comfy with it then get someone who is (who you trust) to have a look, or a proper engineer.

I think Edward Mathias are summa distributors (among others of course) and hold some stocks or parts.
