Depends what software you are using Andy. From reading your other post the software that you use is for a specific purpose and not sure if you have the ability to cut direct.
Do you use, have access to any other software for design like Corel or Illustrator.

Thanks for the reply
I have 2 computers in my office, One with Caldera which the printer and cutter is linked to and one that I use for designing my files etc on which has illustrator and photoshop and this is were i add the contours for the summa.
I basically use caldera to setup my printing job etc then print the job then move the job to the summa were i scan the barcode then align the cutter to the closest black square (guide I think) and then click ok on the summa, After this the job cuts automatically.
I really would like to learn more about this equipment as it was quite expensive and is probally getting about 40% of its potentional used 🙁

Yer I had a quick look at the Caldera website, from what I could see it’s a specialised software package and works differently from software that most signmakers use. You would need to look into it a bit more yourself but I am guessing your best bet would be to install a plug in for illustrator on the design computer and cut directly from illustrator. Do a search on the boards as there may be several plug ins that will work with illustrator. They may depend on what plotter you have. Sorry to sound a bit vauge but I don’t use illustrator myself.
Have a look at the caldera site as it looked like they had a program for doing cut vinyl work that you may already have and just not be aware of.
