Summa DC4SX – Advice please
Does anyone use this machine. We currently have an Edge which is in good working order but it is time for an upgrade.
Will this machine lay white down in a similar way to the Edge (e.g thickness)?
Is it fairly maintenance free?
Wouldn’t be looking at full colour only spot, but would use the larger print area easily.
Any good deals out there at the moment.
I’ve checked the price of the foils and they seem very competitive.

before i bought the VS i was about to buy one cheque book at the ready, this is what i found
lack of sales = no knowledge we both run thermal machines so know some of the pit falls.
eventually i got samples which looked very nice apart from they were laid out in such a manner that there were no joins all 1 pass to complete.
i asked for a 1 sq foot sample of spot colour it never arrived.
very short head warranty and from what i gather they do no deviate from it at 1300 quid a go could be disaster.
i really wanted one but i could not trust the system at all, i joined the usa summa forum and found they had a love hate relationship with the machine.give me a ring if you want to know more.

Thanks Chris, I have read some mixed reviews. The 4" pass seems a problem, a shame I may just by an FX to run alongside my existing Edge as these are so much faster.
I’ll ask for some samples
