  • Summa D140 – won’t two different cut settings

    Maybe someone can help me…

My Summa D140 was working fine, but now it seems to not be able to do different cuts in the same file. It will either kiss cut everything, or flex cut everything.

In Summa Cutter Control, I’ve switched the Flex cut option off as if I switch it on that’s whats overriding everything and flexcutting everything. But now it will only do kiss cuts (I use Onyx Cut Server to send jobs to the cutter).
Also, I’m trying to set it up with a new vinyl (slightly different micron so adjusting the cutting depth etc) but it doesn’t seem to be changing anything even though I’ve selected to "override device settings".

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Pete.

    Hi

To do different cuts on the same file you do this through Onyx rather than through Summa Cutter Control.

Both flex cut and kiss cut lines are set up from Onyx which will overide whatever is set up on the cutter or in SCC.

The document in this post explains everything:

Regarding overriding the device settings you set the pressure \ speed in onyx and it ignores what you have set on the cutter – try sending one over at a very slow or fast speed just to make sure it is working properly as subtle differences may be missed.

Also there was an old version of Onyx where the override feature didn’t work – maybe version 10? if you have 12 then this should work fine.

But take a look at the document in the other post it explains most of this.

    Andrew
