  • Suitable fixings for Plastic cladding?

Posted by Deleted User on 30 August 2005 at 12:15

Hi everyone, how you all keeping?

Im installing a sign this thursday. The sign is 80ft by 4 ft and im making it out of 3mm dibond. The sign is getting fixed into cladding and i was going to use aluminium self drillers (tex screws) to fix it up. Last night though i was looking at the site and the cladding seems to be made more of a plastic or fibre glass material rather than aluminium. Have any of you seen this before and what fixings would be suitable to use? Would wood self drillers be more appropiate? All help as always appreciated.

How about using double-sided tape AND self tapping screws, Belt and braces.

You may find the cladding is fixed to wooden battens, maybe you could test drill in an area that is going to be covered by the sign.

    Hi tony,

Yeah that would be even better, just put screws in it. I was gonna use double sided tape anyways.
