  • Suggestions for a vinyl remover solution

A customer has asked for me to provide a solution for removing old vinyl lettering. I have seen some advertised but it is pretty pricey. Does anyone have a cost effective recommendation?

    Many thanks

    morning nick

lots of different ideas on this one but in my book if its a customer .point him to halfords and autoglym tar and glue remover.
about a fiver and should do the job. some vinyls come off better than others with a bit of heat pink plastic chislers are a great tool to get .i charge by the hour for vinyl removal.
i use a screenprint screenwash but you have to be carefull and test small areas

    hi nick

gentle heat will soften the vinyl .
and the tar and glue remover will soften the glue so it can be wiped away
not easy but a bit of elbow grease.
i know their is some products which will soften the vinyl but i think its easier to remove with heat rather than have it all mush like paint stripper.
jag products have a vinyl remover tool a motorised rubber head which looks good, pricey but if its a big job and cost effective so what jag sign supplies are on the tool bar and well worth a browse through.
you will spend a few quid on stuff you want in your tool box bit like cosco
you go in for a tin of coffee and spend a £100 quid 😮

I use tar and glue remover from Halfords, works a treat, for older tougher stiuff I use a MBX vinyl remover (jag signs supply) , a rubber disc which is a fast way of doing large scale vinyl graphics.
    Regards
