substrate cutter which one to get
Posted by Shane Binding on 8 June 2020 at 22:07Hi guys looking for suggestions on a manual substrate cutter to cut dibond, correx and foamboard. Im looking at the keencut steele trak but i dont like the price is this the one to go for or are there other ones available. I dont cut a lot of boards but need the ability to be able to. I normally buy dibond cut to size and same with foamex but would like to cut in house and buy in sheets.
whats your thoughts?

Accurate, repeatable, fast, clean, reliable, excellent manufacturer back up, can even do v-groove in DiBond for tray panels.
Keencut all the way (and made in the UK!-)
Anyone tried the new composite cutting head STC2C?

Selling mine, going to run with a festool track plunge saw. Mine is the bigger one in the range.

When are you planning on getting the track saw? Would love to hear how you find it.

We already have the festool dibond milling machine for v grooving, awesome bit of kit, the plunge saw uses the same rail & is basically the same machine with a different blade, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s as good. At some point we will get a cnc which will make both tools redundant I guess, would still be useful on site though

Poker game on now [emoji6] £3090 new for that, A grand off & it’s yours, you’ll need a decent sized van to get it in without dismantling it though
Wall mounted on the bracket at the minute, but I have got the freestanding bracket as well -

Comes apart with an allen key but the main carriage would go in my swb transporter without the bulkhead. It is bloody heavy though, everything else is just framework
