• Stuck Magnetics

Posted by M Brown on October 26, 2010 at 2:08 pm

    Hi All,

I just had a customer text me that one of her magnetics has stuck to her car. When ever I supply magnetics I always tell people to remove them once in a while, but she obviously did not listen to me.

I know I have seen this thread before, so has anyone got any methods of getting them off with out damaging the paint.

    Why don’t people bl**dy listen

    From Mark

Mark yer it’s been discussed before and I think various ways of removing them were discusswed. Can’t find the old post myself but it wasn’t that long ago if I remember correctly.

Better to give people a care sheet rather than just tell them, at least that way there is no denying you did all you could to prevent this happening. Won’t stop it happening as people won’t read it the same as they don’t listen but at least you did your best.

Lots and lots and lots of warm soapy water, they will release eventually.

yup, bit of a disaster for me i’m afraid, ultimately it cost me no more than reputation with who-ever he discussed it and blamed me for his (their = two vans) lack of attention to the care sheet which they were given.

I always try and put people off magnetics now, if they still insist on them i tell them to sit down and read the care sheet while i go and put the kettle on, if they still wish to proceed then they can sign a copy of it, which i will retain.

Same here, customer reads, signs, then if they still want to places the order.

For removal, slow and steady with v/hot soapy water. One of those freezer (plastic) scrapers can also help……….
