  • Struggling with Glitter garment film to heat properly?

Hey folks just wondered what settings you use for glitter garment vinyl, I am having problem with it fixing to my shirts.

I am pressing at 170 degrees for 20 secs and then waiting for it to cool before removing the carrier, but im finding that if i remove the carrier cold you really have to use some force to get it off and sometimes pulls some of the image….if try to remove whilst still hot or warm it tends to stick to the carrier and not the shirt!

    Any ideas please?

Speak of the devil as to say 😀

If it is the glitter film from our "fashion films" then the settings should be:

    150 C Temp , 10 – 15 seconds press time and washable upto 30 C max.

At 170 C you are way too high and can adversely affect the application and life of the material.

Cheers for the reply, I got the glitter film from the vinyl corporation so I am not sure what brand it is!

Are there limitations to what kind of text can be applied using this film? I ran a few more tests today and still struggled with the release!

Will try lowering the temp tomorrow and try that, maybe the heat is welding the carrier to the film?

    Thanks
