Strange plotter problem???
Posted by Nigel Hindley on 16 March 2007 at 15:25Hi,
Our Anagraph (elite series AE75E) Plotter has developed a strange quirk! – It will not cut T-Shirt material it just freezes it will cut the same design in vinyl but just stops when the t-shirt material is in – how it can tell is beyond me – I thought that it may be light getting through the material but it isnt.
This have never happened before?
Can anyone comment?

is this freezing on set up just as its finding the first roller

may be nothing to do with this but, my summa cant read black tee shirt vinyl, you have to cover the sensor with tape !!!!

Yeah when it goes to cut as the data transfers to the plotter it gets to nine and stops and you cant do anything it comes up with an error that normally you can press enter and it continues! not so with this.
It is black t-shirt vinyl how can your plotter tell? is it just degrees of light getting through?
– I will try the tape idea I did wonder if light was getting through!
We have just successfully cut white!
Thanks will report back

Would have thought Richard had the right idea. They aren’t clever enough to tell what material is loaded so must be something to do with the sensors.

the backing on vinyl is white normally
the backing of lighter tee shirt film is not a problem, but i think reading solid black isrich

Its weird – but thanks – Im sure I have cut the very same material with no problems previously though.
Anyway problem sorted and I didnt have to get a new plotter!!
Which makes me happy,
Have a good weekend!

Hello all- question for Nigel Hindley- Are you still running your anagraph plotter? and if so, what do you use to drive it? I just upgraded from original ana system, and have not yet successfully got it cutting.
Any solid ideas at this stage very welcome! ta
