    Hello!

I would really like to get some help on the "banding"problem we have (more like fading).

    The nozzlecheck looks perfect.

The problem appears on PVC-banner and roll-upmaterial.

It is noticible on green, blue and some orange colours. I’ve attached a picture that shows how it looks.

If anyone have any ideas I’m thankful if you would like to share them.

we use get this a lot with our printer, only started after we switched to third party inks and incorrect profiles. we would have to switch the machine from 2 passes to 4 pass and it usualy solved the problem

We have never used any third party inks, and the profile is the same as we’ve always used.

I’ve tried to lower the temp and it looks as if this works :/ It’s getting better but not perfect.

    Hmm, I will keep trying.

What about a nozzle check? Did you made it? Any problems on Cyan?

We had simaler problem with our Mimaki turned out to be dampers.

    Kind regards

    Russell.

I’d go with cyan damper being blocked or buggered. The Mimaki’s used to suffer from this when the head slants were out but I can’t see any obvious calibration issues with that.

    different media,

excluding roll up and roll down

the print start acceptalble for 20 cm
than is start to create banding

If all of the above have been checked and are all ok, maybe your encoder wheel is dead. It turned out ours wes buckled and the wheel was rubbing on the sensor. Also we could hear a slight "Juddering" when moving the media forward or backwards. We had a similar issue with our mutoh valuejet, its definately worth a check
