My biggest ball ache of a job is to type out menus or textforleaflets etc.

I find it very long winded as I’m not a fast Tyler more a one finger typed

I’ve not tried it yet, but has anyone tried the word to text apps?

How good are they, plz don’t say you’ve been using these for ages and I’m the only idiot typing out things by hand

I hate doing menus for this very reason as the vast majority of them are written on the back of a napkin. They will not scan and convert to text or if they do you will spend so much time correctingbthe text you may as well have wrote them out.

If your customer has typed it out and then printed it out you may have some luck and I use Adobe PDF which has a convert to text option in the full version.

If anyone has any fool proof ideas I’m all ears!

Sorry just noticed you ment voice to text. Have you tried creating a voice to text note on your phone a d emailing it to yourself. Every time I ask Google anything she seems to be quite acurate

Make them email it to you typed so can be copy & pasted or else slap them with a hefty design charge. They will always type it & they need it typed for there till systems as well anyway

Most fast food owners are foreign, so can’t write English.

Yes we charge for a retype, but that’s no reason not to find a way of getting done quicker.

I have written a php and javascript app for my website for our customers to make their own menus.
If the user has Chrome browser It has speech recognition too
Can I put a link on here so people can try it?

It is a little buggy and needs more work doing on it but if anyone feels it may help I’ll happily share it.

that’s a great idea, make the client fill it in themselves.
