Just make sure you register your works van as exactly that, a works van.

I recently dodged a 37 mph on a 30 mph by replying that i was unable to confirm or deny that i was the driver and could they supply more evidence, in the form of a photograph to further help me identify who was driving the work`s vehicle at the time.

Due to the extra work this creates for the relative issuing council, the case is dropped 9 times out of 10.

Not proud of the fact i was speeding though, and i do my best to watch it always. I just despise the way the Uk motorist is such an easy target.

I got caught the other Sunday doing 37 in a 30 by a mobile unit. In my defense in teh 10 yrs i’ve lived in Aylesbury i always thought that that streach of the road was a 40, as all the other areas around there are 40.

Ohh well i’ll pay, it’s my first ever conviction in 16 yrs of motoring, and they didn’t catch me doing 120 up to McRod the other month or all the other times i have been speeding, i do only open up outside town though nlot anywhere near the schools ect.

Ohh the fuzz got me last sat for not wearing my seatbelt as well, 30 quid fine no points though.

That one did gut me as i have been wearing it recently but i forgot.

And they hide behind the bushes to get you too. (:)

If fining people for speeding is such a great idea why isn’t it working, the number of fines just keeps going up.

If they where so concerned about speeding they would just give you a load of points for breaking a speed limit with a simple warning that next time you’re band. It would immediately solve any so called speeding problems or bring the country quickly to its knees. 😮

i guess the only solution is dont speed,

i cover over 30,000 miles a year and it took me a few years to understand what i was doing wrong,

but now i read the signs (haha) and keep to the limit and if im not sure i do 30mph,

cant afford to lose my job just yet!

also i have some customers who produce plates using black reflective digits for the flash camera,s not sure how they would appear a night if the law was behind you,

I’m ashamed to say that I treat it as a game because these cameras are not about safety, just tax collection. They want to extort money from me so I make it my life’s work to make sure that they don’t.

I would never dream of speeding past a school, or similar, and I don’t go silly, but in the increasing number of places where the limit has been artificially lowered or is just plain not justified I’ll give it a go.

I’ve got a good radar detector fitted but, best of all, on a bike I am perfectly immune to all forward facing cameras.

I think the film is pointless on the new breed of speed cameras they dont take a picture using a flash

I agree with John..
Where I live, the A3 has around 5 of them in a 13-mile stretch…this is a 3-lane carriageway with only a 50mph limit.
In all the years (12) I have driven down there I have never seen an accident and that’s twice a day all in rush hour.

I used to do them. These new methods to tax motorists have all been tested in Northampton, including the multiple average speed cameras.
I’d say the first 20 fines would have gone to pay for the battenberg livery on the van.

I got done on a bike and the court read similar jacket, similar helmet and similar bike even though 2 constables said they stopped me 3 minutes later 3 miles down the road!!! (Count it out) Fact was I was getting done and that was that.
Ain’t gonna quote any speeds as it might upset some of the sheep.

Its just more of the police state that we find ourselves living in nowadays.

At the risk of sounding holier than thou, a mate of mine a former cop and self confessed speed freak had to scrape a couple of people off their windscreens and go and tell their families. It soon changed his outlook on things. It’ll never happen to me………?

Sure the cameras are to raise money but SPEED KILLS, lets not forget that.

Tonight I killed a Fox, I wasn’t speeding but was up in the sixties. the damn critter walked out in front of me reached the outer carriageway and then turned back. 5 mph slower and I may have missed it?
