Hi all, I have just bought the upgrade pump and fitting kit for my sp300v. The kit didn’t come with intructions. Has anybody done this upgrade? Do the settings on the printer need changing? Does anybody have pictures of the pump installed? Thank you

    where did it come from.

have not fitted one yet but i know on mine it needs the correct firmware update at the time of fitting.

It’s pretty easy – involves fitting a new bracket and some pipework modification.

Firmware is more to slow the motor down than anything else or you’ll hemorrhage ink.

Updating firmware is easy – but you need to have access to the service mode that is correct for your current version.

When I enter service mode what do I change for the new pump? Where to the pipes go to? Thanks again

To be honest it’s been over 3 years since I did it…and have tossed all of the info.

Bought mine via Signmaster – and they sent / emailed a how to guide & talked though too.

Best contacting DIGI first…if they sell it, maybe they will provide backup (LOL).

There’s various settings buried in the pump parameters that need values set – none of which I can remember as I no longer run a 540v / cadet.

    Literally 2 minutes’ work.

Here’s a picture of mine. The inlet tubes (coming from the capping stations) enter the pump at the bottom through the T piece.

The exit tube (to waste bottle) connects to the top of the pump (with one half of the T piece blocked off).

Sorry – Don’t know how to upgrade the firm ware, but as David says you will use more ink if this isn’t done (though it will not prevent you from using the machine meanwhile).

Thanks, that clears up the fitting side. Just don’t want to fit it until I know the settings to change. The picture helps loads though. I didn’t know the pump motor is turned 90 degrees.

I noticed on the picture you have only one pipe coming out for the waste. Does it matter if you have two? Would it get rid of the ink better? Thanks

It wouldn’t make any difference. The flow rate is determined by the pump.
