Does anyone know if you can run full solvent inks in the 300v? (also pros cons). And has anyone else had trouble getting a nice cut with this machine, like small say 15mm lettering? My printer is real average for cutting lettering, compared to others i’ve seen. I’ve played with offset and speed but it’s still rubbish.

I’ve still to the set the offset properly on our machine but I’ve got the accuracy sorted after a lot of hassle, so it is possible

Have not tried lettering that size and am doubtful we would ever need to – hope not anyway as I can imagine it’s a hassle.

in the early days of eco solvent i could understand changing to full solvents but not with the introduction of the roland eco sol max.
what problems are you having ?

i would expect the 300 to cut 15 mm lettering fine my 540 does

When you say you cut 15mm lettering, is this a contour cut around 15mm lettering or do you mean just cutting 15mm lettering from solid colour vinyl?

both colin even after laminating and have done 10mm often.

some times use it as a cutter only.
there is no reason with care to print say 10 mm lettering and cut it.
for general use i put a small bleed on but when i have to it will cut down a printed hairline.

You seem to be getting better results than most posting here on this subject. After you recommended the Roland, I have been keeping a keen interest on peoples results with these machines and it seems there is a lot of variance in contour cut performance. Can’t determine whether this is down to operator inexperience or not being set up correctly at installation but it has made me a bit wary. Our canon LFP is working overtime at the moment on POS material so upgrade to Versacamm/soljet could be on the cards but I need to make sure I can get similar quality and a reasonable cut accuracy to justify the space it will take up in our crowded workshop.

    Thanks again for your help

I’m Printing to clear pvc in reverse, then backing it up with white vinyl (mx Graphics), but i’ve had problems with the ink not fully bonding to to the pvc so i thought full solvent might fix this issue. With the cut, I’;ve been using a graphtec 2100 at work for ten years with no probs down to ten mm but my roland is rubbish for that siZe lettering. Any suggestions?
