SP-300 part of print missing
Posted by Peter Dee on 6 August 2010 at 09:25I’m printing banners with a hairline or 0.1mm(tried both) line around the edge as a cutting line for the hemming edge.
However, 2 of the 4 edges don’t print; the far one from the head station and the last one at the end of the print.
In essence the printed rectangular line only prints one side and one end.
Any ideas?Gary Birch replied 15 years, 3 months ago 7 Members · 9 Replies -

I sometimes get this in Versaworks I think it is to do with the preview of the image in the clip/tile option, particularly if scaling up a small artwork. I have found it more accurate to use the "print trim marks" selection for this.

Also in your queue settings make sure the eps border has a value – i have set mine to 2mm,

We do it the same way and get the same problem on white banners – fattening it up as suggested works for us.

If running Versaworks. you can change the eps margin. Edit > Queue Settings > File Format > Top Box eps margin we have set at this set at 1mm.
This resolved this problem for us anyway.

Thanks all. I had tried it at .5mm and it still left one edge out.
I have now made a white outline panel 1mm larger than the graphic. This has no hairline but it makes all hairlines on the graphic part of the print job instead of the edge of it.
I’ll look at the other options as well. -
I am getting a similar problem but with cutting. have just printed a large vinyl and tiled it but with contour cut line it cuts 2 lines and leaves 2 😥

we had the same problem, only two out of four outer lines would cut or print. changing the eps border as detailed above cured it for us – all it does is creates a border around the outside of the file wich means all cut lines and printed lines are now well within the file, hey why not give it a go?
