i used to get a nice lot of cars to do. but dont since ive moved companies

Its always nice getting the cool cars, as you get to drive them around the car park and into the workshop, slipping your foot on the accelerater! :lol1:

A Viper was one of my favourites and time consuming to do!

this year ill get the balls to re do my Pontiac Firebird bonnet…..

    Everything looks sharp to me.
Since you asked, the one thing that I don’t care for is the lawn care font.
But other than that, you get a gold star on your forehead!
Is the red car hood airbrushed?

i agree with you jill. I just wanted to use a slap dash font for the lawncare, that job actually didnt go ahead, but was a 10-15minute effort at a design :lol1:

The car hood is airbrushed, doesnt really show up on the picture, but it will need re-doing soon, im thinking of changing her to black, so i want to re create the air work and wrap the hood when the paint work is back up to scratch!

as you are an american, I was recently in Kansas City visiting a friend for 6 weeks, i was offered a job out there, but isnt the green card visa such a long windy road! 🙄 it put me off!

i just love the fact i see most of my vehicle jobs all the way through! from liasing with the clients, designing, manufacturing, applying and taking the photos myself, and seeing the customer happy!

    I love my job 🙂

Yup, the green card thing is a real pain in the butt.
You’ll probably make more money over there in the UK with your skills.
Having good design ability as well as being able to use an airbrush sets you apart from the standard licky-sticky shop.
I hope you charge accordingly as your work is very good.

Duncan, the work looks very nice. As for the visa, the H1-B Visa really isn’t that difficult to obtain, one of my friends who I used to work with in New York had one and has full citizenship now. If you have a trade that you are good at chances are your very eligible to obtain one. Goodluck.

isnt the H1-B Visa the one where by you have to get a job offer from some where? Plus the company had to pay fees, id have to return for job interviews, this all costs money etc….

besides Im happy with my new company ! 🙂

    but thanks!

    Nice range of work Duncan
    like the p/shopped valet logo

my only negative is the beemer ,though the layout is probably as produced on the company stationery i would have suggested that the etch logo be made slightly smaller and fitted it central on the door below the handle
then added the rest slightly larger below

i always try never to add text or graphic over a body swage line unless its part of a stripe i always design to use the flat areas

    just my veiw

    Good stuff, that.

What the bloody hell is ‘equine and canine manipulation’ ? What does she do, talk animals into doing things? Convince puppies to rob post offices?

I’ve been on the beer. Is it obvious?

thanks all, i agree, well i just tried something out of the ordinary, everybody centres logos on doors, i just wanted to incorporate the indicators and put the lozenge shape elsewhere

As for machines, programmes, im using a Roland SC545 Printer and Graphtec Plotters (FC4100-75 & 1200)

Photoshop/Corel Draw X3/Flexi Sign 8. I can also use signlab (ewww) and Composer (yay)

Now getting to grips with weaning myself to use illustrator!

I used to use an edge and edge II machine too until moving onto bigger and better things.

Nicola – The E in Claire isnt actually that bad, its the angle you look at! But know you’ve pointed it out 😳 Im actually thinking of telling the customer and changing it! :lol1: THANKS!

‘equine and canine manipulation’ = Doing therapy on the spines and feet of the dogs and horses to make them feel and walk/run/breathe better..i believe

the 545 is a lovely piece of kit! doesnt really drink ink as much as id imagine. As with any WF printer, the quality just all depends on your artwork being top totty! 😎
