  • Some Lambie work in cut vinyl…

OK maybe not my own, but it is my brothers and we did produce everything in cut vinyl and installed some. those we didnt due to loaction, we had some fitters install.

I dont often post my brothers work, but recently got sent a bunch of cut vinyl floor jobs he did, so thought i would show the finished results "of just a few of many".
everything has been cut in vinyl strips and each line hand laid one by one.
installations have taken from about 3 days to 2 weeks for a team of fitters. team consisting of up to 6 folk.

every floor shown was done in various galleries around the world for solo shows he run based on his own work. so when you see objects scattered around like twisted doors and record boxes those are also peacies of his work.

ill be honest, i dont like the bulk of it probably because i dont understand most of it. but a fair bit i do like too… as you can tell, his sign maker past has had a little influence on the materials he uses in his work. 😀

I can’t look at them long enough to decide if a like them because my eyes keep going all blurry and out of focus, Oh wait maybe thats due to my medication not the vinyl :lol1:

That’s fantastic work Rob, your brother is a well deserving and respected Artist. :appl: :appl:

My daughter is studying art at Dundee University, and my great hope is that she can go on and achieve a fraction of the recognition and success that your brother has achieved 😀

Fantastic stuff, thanks for the links Dave.

I’m not sure I like it, but I appreciate his talent.

I’ve got a good mate of mine who is epileptic. That would sent him ‘off’ in a heart beat, walking into a room with all those lines 😮

Your bro does some awesome artwork Rob, love them all. Love the Tokyo one where the stripes go in to the door opening. And the Goma, sends my eyes mad 😮

My daughter is just coming to the end of her Art degree in Cardiff University and we’re going to see her Final Degree Show this afternoon.

These are amazing, i really like the black and white ones. What goes over the top? Is there a material to seal them in and protect from people walking over etc.

Just Brilliant, so creative and love em all.

(Still can’t see how you can walk on it in shoes especially heels without scuffing the vinyl 😕 )

    Awesome work.

But I feel sick in the stomach at the thought of fitting that all one strip at a time.
