Small stand off lettering required
OK i need help……..
I have a job that requires 30mm high white foam PVC (matt finnish) cut out lettering that will stand proud of the wall. The font is Haettenschweiler.
These letters are to be placed above the wall clocks in a curve to follow the 14″ diameter of the clock, you know the thing London, Sweeden, USA, Brazil/Bolivia, Thailand/Laos.I’ve tried to source locators small enough to fix to the back of these letters to no avail. I have discussed the possibility of using a clear perspex backing but the customer wants them to be free standing.
Anyone have any ideas???

What about something like a pin. Like a flat head nail glued to the back of the letters then gripfilled into the holes in the wall? If the letters are thick enough you may be able to screw some small threaded rod into the back of the letters strengthened with some glue. Again the rod can be glued with something like gripfill into the wall. Just a couple of ideas….

big-s suggestion is pretty good, it would work if done correct. but tricky.another tricky way but i have tried and did work but depends on ho smooth the surface is.
have little cubes of clear perspex cut and stick 2 maybe 3 to each letter like you would with locators. then using a thin double sided hi-bond tape stick a square on each cube. then basicaly peal of the tape cover and press the letters to the wall and they will stick. i did some letters like this above 3 fancy wooden door ways onto varnich wood and they stuck brill. no probs.

That’s what i have done in the past…
Glued nails to the back of letters, drilled wall and siliconed them in place..
(use your finger to get the spacing from wall)
Worked very well, or you could tape and dia them and use brass stud
