small locators – supplier?
Hi everybody have a little problem we make our own flat cut letttering and increasingly we are being asked to fit locators to small cap height text ie under 100mm. Can anyone assist by letting me know where i can purchase a snap on type of fixing with a sub 10mm footprint i would be pleased to hear from anyone who has found such a product.

It is a problem we have come across aswell – we haven’t be able to source a locator with a small enough footprint either. On small letters we have been glueing clear acrylic rod to the back of the letters & siliconing the rod into the wall.
I would be very interested if anybody is using small locators though

just an idea someoe mentioned to me was that they would grind down the sides of the foot to within under what is visible leaving the foot on behind the lettering

we use a home made system that works very well, total diameter of 8mm and very cheap
get some 50mm bolts M5 and get some lorry air pipe (local garage will be able to help) in white 8mm diameter. cut the pipe into 20mm sections to use as a sleeve over treads of bolt.
place head of bolt onto a small drop of TA431 2 pack Glue or similar. and wait to glue sets.then mark template
bore the wall with a 7mm sds bit approx 35mm deep and fill hole with GRIPFILL or equivalent.

I’ve just measured the small fittings from Snapfix, the base is 16mm diameter-sorry!

Have you tried FKMoore in Ramsgate. They do a small locator, but they are brass though, but can be glued on
