slotting system for removable signs
Posted by Colin Hibbitt on 31 January 2009 at 20:44Looking for a system which we need 18 slots onto a 8×4 so the customer can change boards which slide very easily ie: some sort of tracking which takes 3mm diabond plates 24"x4" plates
also a slotting system which take a 24×18" plate mounted onto 11swg ali which again can change with diabond panels

I have on several occasions used ‘wall board’ edging strips.
Several companies do a satin anodised aluminium channel that takes 3mm perfectly…and it makes an ideal runner / slider.
(Vaguely a square ‘J’ shape)

Can’t remember who I got it from offhand – but somebody like this.

(just from a web search)
Similar to profile A32…but without the ‘wedge’ as material will / may jam…but THEY don’t do it anodised. (Only an issue if cosmetics are a major issue)
I THINK I bought it from Righton last time – but not 100% sure.

Have a look at this……….Slat System
What you are looking for is a Slat System, and there are a few around, most of the ones I have seen are male/female systems rather than slide in dibond…..
I did one before, but it accepted 0.8mm panels that I got from Mastergrave

hi guys – i think the master grave is the way to go – what i got is a recycling site which needs to swap the plates on a daily basis – so we have a 8×4 Ali(11swg) backing board mounted onto post with 18 slots (bays 1-18)approx 18"x4" with individual name plates which need to be interchangeable with different diabond panels showing the customers different recyclable products everey day

just remember to think outside the box!!!!! Although there is only two widths of profile listed, I sliced the 50mm profile to get a 100mm header board in place.
What the Mastergrave one does is creates two side rails and a base into which you drop the preloaded profiles and might not be as rapid changing as simply sliding something in from the side. The one I did was for an accountant to display their "Ltd" accounts.
Foolishly I didnt take a pic of the finished product 😕
