  • Sliding Door signs – help please?

    Posted by Mark Johnston on 23 January 2024 at 13:51

    hi team

    my customer is looking for a bunch of sliding door signs. the type you can slide the slat back and forth to show a different message.

    the only ones i can see online have text engraved in them and i need to put our own message in them in vinyl.

    any advice would be great. 😎

    You need the Slatz system by Spandex Sign Systems.
    Speak to John at Western Signs (authorised Spandex Manufacturer)
    https://www.westernsigns.co.uk
    I have in the past bought the profile from Spandex, and the clips etc, but TBH Western will have it with you in no time, and you’re not left carrying stock.

    You beat me to it, @DavidHammond
    I was going to suggest Spandex Slatz, but I couldn’t see if they offered the one that slides due to there being no pictures on their website. 🙄https://shop.spandex.com

    Good call on “Western Sign System”, I haven’t heard of them before. 👍

      I can highly recommend them, I’ve spoken to John in the past (mostly about our Roland), and have ordered Spandex from him. @Iain-Pearson has also sung (very loudly) his praises on a more bespoke project he work with him on.

      haha!
      We are one of the trade’s best secrets!
      Looking at getting our name out there more this year. We do a hell of a lot here.🤣
      (Spandex obviously) But that’s a small part of what we manufacture here.

      Some of the types of signage we manufacture are:

      * Aluminium trays, monoliths, flat cut lettering (powder coat in-house)
      * Braille and tactile / traffolyte signage
      * Flat cut lettering
      * Powder coat lacquer

      (hope it is ok to post the above / if not please remove)

          I’m still rolands number one fan 😂🙄. I know one of my customers upgraded to a VG3 and got to keep his VG2 for free due to issues with it.

          Looking at upgrading at the moment mimaki UV is looking good at the moment.

    It’s perfectly fine, thanks John. 👍

    Trade suppliers are welcome to talk about their products, their company or even their services.
    The only catch is that the reply must be directly in response to someone asking a question about their product, company or service.

    Recommendations, such as David has given on your company, are what everyone wants. Even sharing links, videos, images etc. just makes the posts more valuable with valid related content.
