What’s the peeps thoughts after week 1?

Never been as intriqued by a game as I am about Ireland V Wales on Saturday. Are we as good as we think after the All Blacks, will O’Driscoll be up for sticking it to Gatland……?

    Good open championship for sure.

i think were good enough yes but it was never as important to show up with the right game plan and in the right frame of mind, gatland will know the mind set of a lot of our players and is already racheting up the pressure in the press a lot of it directed at brian od.roll on saturday 😀 wel stop the singing 😀

Can’t help feeling Gatland is playing his usual mind games. Early team announcement with no J. Davies…wonder will that stay the same to kick off time! 🙂

Still in shock now, Wales didn’t turn up and there was no passion.

To be fair i think your spot on there Neil have to agree it was more down to ye not turning up than we been great and the score in the end was just because ye didnt even play to the end, towel was in early im afraid. 😉

I think the huge plus for Irish rugby is that we have found a coach who can get the best out of our player base. If anything the greatest loser here was Gatland who was finally exposed as a coach with only one game plan. The Irish played to their strengths on the day and critically, they played with belief and discipline and we were able to make big changes in personnel without affecting our effectiveness. It will be hugely interesting to see what game plan he brings to the English game, because it will have to be different to the Welsh one. (Elsmore’s absence from this thread is noted! Quiet confidence or fear?…who knows! 🙂 )

Gatland should of just fielded yesterdays Ospreys squad and given the international squad a day off!

    Oh well! 🙁

Have to say, have never been as optimistic after a defeat as I am today. We didn’t fire on all cylinders but managed to keep the score to within 3 against a very scary (in terms of how they are developing) English team.

Championship wide open now…bring it on!

it’s Irelands championship this year for sure!

I was of course gutted to watch Wales lose to England in a house full of 200 Englishmen and 3 Welsh, However, our vets team beat Maidstone 4ths/vets 70+ – 7 and the guys from Maidstone grasciously wore red shirts post match, making us few Welsh feel far less lonely amonth the whities! Maidstone clearly hadn’t thought it through!

    Another ‘coulda been’ for England!

    😮 😮 Don’t jinx us now! 😀

    Nothing sure about it!

Will be fascinating to see what happens when England have to force it to rack up a big score against Italy, who have clearly targeted this game to cause an upset. England seem to struggle for the try line while being the superior team in most other departments.
Will France turn up in Stade Francais? They too need to rack up a big score against us to have any chance to overhaul England.
    Fascinating!

    Great end to the 6Nations!!

I have no idea how Farrell didn’t get properly cited for that headlock wrestle on the Italian guy, bloody shameful stuff.
