  • Site problem – Screen wrap

Posted by John Childs on 19 January 2005 at 10:41

I don’t think it’s me, as it is the same on two different computers, but as of last night the site doesn’t wrap to fit the window size on my screen so I have to keep scrolling across to read the posts. It seems to be a fixed width now.

    Anybody else getting this?

This happens to me too. I prefer not to run by browser(s) at full screen but at around 800×600. It is ok full-screen at 1024×768 but then not everyone has large monitors.

Another niggle is that if I click on the images in the main menu for ‘The good, bad & funny’ and ‘show us your stuff’, the links are opened in a new window. target=”_new” needs to be removed from the html or changed to target=”_self”.

Doubt Robert will change it to target=self… he’s gets targetted enough :lol1: :lol1:

Same happens to me on the home PC, I have to scroll across, but I don’t really mind it. The opening of new windows does bug a little though, as its kind of distracting when you have 3 or 4 uksb’s on at once. I’m not very multi-tasking 😕

    Cheers, Dewi

    hi john
i will look into the screen wrapping, as i said, it maybe that we have caused a little glitch on screen wrapping, but im not sure. i know on smaller monitors it does throw it out a bit, but i think there was a reason for this a while back. ill check anyway, onviously somethings happend if it never did this before and does now. 😀

    jsk
thats that one sorted mate… 😉

carrie pointed out another little glitch on the forum index, so ill get to work on that too.. better doing all this while we are working on the site anyway.. 😉

I view the site mostly on my 14.1″ tft lcd laptop screen, and the only time i have problems is when someone posts a HUGE picture then i have to scroll forever
