Are .sit mac zip files? I have two files that show the .sit extension but the icon looks like adobe Illustrator, but i can’t open it in Illustrator. The customer says it’s a Quark file and Fonts but i can’t open it in Quark either

Help Please! I can’t upload the file but will email it anyone willing to have a go.

Take a look here http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/index.html at Stuffit expander, its a compression tool like ZIP, I think it started on Mac, but its now available for PC.

http://filext.com/ is a really useful site to visit if you get a file with an extension that you don’t recognise.

Even if you don’t have the right software to open or edit a file, it seems a bit better to me to able to say something like “unfortunately my industry standard software does not recognise your “EconoSignLite” file, please can you send me a file the rest of the world understands”.

    Lorraine.

They have been compressed with Stuffit.

    Send them over.
