  • Silver illumination, is it possible?

Posted by Warren Beard on 9 November 2009 at 15:46

    Hi All

This might be a silly question but I have a customer who wants a blue background and silver illuminated letter, I was not sure what kind of effect silver would give and thought I would just have to use a grey to represent silver? Can anybody put me right please.

    cheers

Hi Tim, but does it look silver or grey?

I just want to be confident if I tell the customer I can do it in silver and he doesn’t turn around and say it’s grey 😕

    cheers

It is possible and to be honest can be achieved using most silvers as generally they are fairly translucent infact some are nearly see-through , however they only look grey when illuminated, as to get a metallic look you need light reflection not light transmission 😮
