    hi folks ive been asked to create a traditional sign for a shop .That in itself is not the problem ive been doing it for years 😀 but the customer wants it to look old ,worn faded hmmmm i can see sponges and a bit of white spirit being involved but am well open to suggestions from the experts

    There are various ways to age a sign, have you seen or used crackle glaze?

    You can also paint the sign then rub the lettering with a fine sand paper to create a weathered effect.

    When I get some more time later I’ll try and get you some more info.

    It can be done tho.

    thanks neil you just reminded me of that crakle glaze its been about for years but ive never had the need to use it
