i need to fit a foamex sign which has no visible fixings such as screws, caps or nails. what is the best way to do this??

it is based in a busy city centre in a shopping mall so is there a good or bad time as ive never had to work in a busy environment before??

    thanks

First of all what are you fixing the foamex to, and how big is the sign, and what thickness is the foamex?

If working in a shopping mall you will usually need permission/permit from the owners/management to work there, and provide them with a risk assesment,
    insurance details etc.

most times you will only be allowed to work out of the normal shopping hours.

I’d also check with the centre that they’re happy with the use of foamex, many shopping centres will insist on a certain minimum level of fire rating for signs within the mall and foamex may not fit the bill.

Peter’s comment regarding Risk Assessments & Method Statements is also well worth taking on board too.

    Good luck

thanks for your replies guys. the foamex is 4mm, fixed as a fascia, 401cmx50cm. I have made the sign and was thinking of using a guy which i know who installs for me but if it has to go through all the technicalities then i will just sub the work to another printer which i know who will have the permit and insurance for the job which i currently do not have. i was thinking of using bond tape for the job but the last thing i want is the sign falling down on somebodies head with fingers at me. Ive thought of using silicone for the job.

you are using the wrong material, foamex has a high rate of expansion and needs to be free mounted to allow it to expand and contract.
It is fine in a panatrim frame or similar.
but otherwise to mount without visible fixings is a challenge.
A composite tray with a 25mm return would not have cost a great deal, and would be a far better job
