Posted by Nicola McIntosh on 20 April 2004 at 20:01hi folks a couple of samples here to let you see how 751 stands up to the horrible weather up in the glens (mountains). done these signs three years ago, the guy only brought them back to change the telephone number!! i am amazed at the condition of the vinyl!! it’s like brand new!!

Second that, looks really good, not like vinyl. The red letters on the circle one look raised. Is that just a black shadow?

Vinyl still looks in good nick, Nix 😀
Gives us a little more confidence in using 741
Great layout by the way
John 😀
-
thanks everyone for your comments!! 😛
dave w. thanks
fozzie yes there is a black shadow well spotted!!
john i cannot myself get over how good the vinyl is!! even after taken off the old tel. no. with slight heat, then a wee quick rub with turps, using an old bit off a t-shirt, the green had no scratch marks!! 😮 😮
anyway thanks everyone there is a wee mistake i have just spotted!! 🙁

staring at it….. can’t see a spelling…. it’s like one of those puzzle books. Have to print it out and pass it round 😀
-
ye i’m just annoyed at the sign being away for three years and it comes back, and i spotted THE MISTAKE!! 😀 it’s staring you in he face!! 😛

Nik is that the ‘Photography by’ is at a slightly different angle to the rest of the text(it sits down to the left)?
Dave

You’ve better eyes than I! 😮 I can’t see a mistake Nik, damn fine looking signs though 😀 They really have stood the test of time, like you say, they look brand new! 😮
Cheers, Dewi

‘Photography by’ is straight, the rest are italics? Wouldn’t call that a mistake though 😉
-
noop!! you’r all wrong!
i’ll give you all twenty minutes then i let you know!! 👿
Nik

I know that Fozzie, but check the line of the text not the look of it it sits down to the left, you have to measure it to really see it, but may be it is more easily seen in real life.
It is obviously not that bad if we are struggling!

(hot) I’ve seen it, I’ve seen it, nananah 😆
They were all suppose to be round, he he he 😆
-
come on then!! dave!!
Nik
tut! just seen your bit at the bottom!! so you have not found it!! ha-ha

Dave,
I wasn’t having a go at your guess 😛 it was my guess at the same time as yours 😆
Dave
This is getting bizarre now! -
Read my post fully NIk!
No really though the arrow is pointing the wrong way isn’t it?
-
nope!!
Nik
it’s not bizarre! honestly it’s just me winding down on a friday night, and the time was right!! 😀 😀
Nik
-
talking of time why are the posts an hour behind the real time? I changed mine time in my setting so whats going on?
-
well that’s it folks times up!!
the mistake was the ‘a’ in jack!! can you see it know!! 😀 😀 😀
Nik (and it’s not the photography)
-
the a in jack is lower than the rest of the lettering!! on the big sign!! it also squints abit too the left!!
well that was a damp squid!! 😥 😥 😥
Nik
-
I see a tiny variation on the ‘a’ but no wonder it took so long to spot it, blimey Nik, most signmaker’s wouldn’t have spotted that, and even if they did it’d be a trademark “Aye be alright” 😉
Still, its a cracking set of signs, just a case of tickling him into buying an A board to complete the set now 😉 😉
Cheers, Dewi
-
why thank you fozzie!!
when the sign came back. i spotted the a straight away, and was very annoyed!!, that i did not see it before it went out!!
dewi!! ed made an easel for the big round sign to sit on!! the guy was very very impressed!! 😆 😆
anyway folks glad you all got into the swing of things, seen it’s a friday night!! 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 your good sports!!
thanks again Nik
-
Well you really got us all going there didn’t you
I think we should have you for mental cruelty to board members 😆
Like the rest I can’t really see owt wrong
But there you go!
John
