Hello. Have new Roland GS-24 Cutter and attempting to get it working properly with SIgnlab 8

Computer is running Windows 10 32 bit. Signlab is installed and the program is working all except the cutting. I believe it’s because I do not have the correct plotter driver. Or something in Signlab is just not configured correctly. I have done all the updates available. The GS-24 is not listed as an available driver. So I tried picking the closest available.

It is cutting (just not cleanly/satisfactorily) so it must be all communicating. I do not know where to go from here to troubleshoot. Can anyone please advise?

when you say its not cutting clean, what do you mean by this?

    Incomplete letters?
circles that have a sort of hexagon shape finish?
Snaggs in the vinyl on corners?
snaggs in the vinyl on straight lines but not curves?

have you had the machine cutting using any other vector software?

Does your machine not have its own driver disk?

Ok a bit further information. With help from the dealer over the phone I was able to cut some letters successfully using the Roland Cut Studio software. (which comes bundled as a download with the machine)

We went back to Signlab 8 but the tech was unable to provide much help as he is unfamiliar with Signlab. I tried changing the plotting device to a GX-24. The letters are incomplete really. A little scractchy squiggly?

It really seems to me that Signlab 8 isn’t supporting the Roland GS-24. Thanks for responding.

    Thanks Kevin

All installed and working with the Roland Software. I was able to use their cutting software(Cut Studio)

Problem is that the guy using the machine has very limited tech skills. He knows how to use Signlab.

It’s a brand new GS-24. We dumped Windows XP. Got it all installed with Windows 10. The Roland Software, Reinstalled Signlab 8. But Signlab 8 is not playing nicely with the GS24. Frustrating that the dealer advised that it all was compatible.
