    Hi Everyone!!!

I am looking to buy the Alluminium lengths / Brackets / Beading to make my own lightboxes instead of paying a bomb for them. Does anybody know of anywhere i can purchase all the parts at good prices or any places to purchase the boxes as a very good price. Have tries Northern Signcases and although they are Excellent boxes could be a little cheaper cos i find adding 30% mark up on them they get exppensive to my customers

    Any hepl!!!

I’d be interested to hear what sort of prices people charge for illuminated signs. For example, what would you charge to supply and fit a box with a cost price (incl vinyls etc) of say £500.

Reason I’m asking is that I can usually get at least double the price of all materials. ( More like 4 times actually 😎 )

I use Kestrel for light boxes, incidentally, although not for much longer. 👿

    Big G

If materials were £500 mark up at say 1.5 is £750 plus fitting, lets say its straightforward still two man job plus abit of tower so say £250 plus somthing for simple design/vinyls lets say £75
= total of £1075 but im presuming you charge out for more? ive only done a couple of lightboxes so not my forte where would I be undercharging please 😕

Well I suppose it’s down to the local competition, which there isn’t a lot of round here. I have a job on currently for a 13’4″ x 4′ box. Cost incl vinyl 600 squids, 1800 squids fitted. A day’s work. I don’t do a lot of lightboxes so maybe I’m charging too much. Never mind, eh.

One of those a week would be very nice. I usually fit them on my own but on this one I’ve got a lad helping me out.

Gig G Now there a trade secret you must share with me – how do you fit light boxes on your own – me I sort of run out of hands for holding steady drilling screwing etc all on my jack 😕
