signage: klahanie kamping
Posted by Adrian Page on 10 June 2005 at 15:33Here is a pic of the first real sign I have made. It is all cut vinyl. I got some help from members of this board (thanks) but I can’t post in the design help forum. Anyway here it is. I wanted to hang the propane sign lower but the customer likes it as it is. 😕

Nice one Adrian,
It’s pretty cool when you see it up and finished. How many times have you driven by it just to check it out so far?
Hopefully more to come.

Marek,
Thanks.
I had to go back and take the picture.:D I forgot my camera on install day. 😳
I have to go back at night and see how the reflective green lettering looks all lit up. Maybe I can add a few links to the propane sign under cover of darkness.Adrian

Lets hope the first of many Adrian – you now have something to show your next customers. Good Luck.

looks real good mate, or a first sign you must be proud. 😉
little tip, could be wrong though.. if that i s a foam board. dont pin it or use like that unless at least 10mm thick, personaly advise a metal or dibond etc
if the sign is only screwed were visable. ide suggest some straps tying both poles together then fixing to that.
these are just tips mate, not poking & advising….great work and thank you for taking the time to post mate 😉

Robert,
Thanks for the encouragement.
The signs are Dibond and are screwed to 1/8″ wall aluminum box sections about 3″ thick by 8″ high that are bolted between the steel posts. The thing is built like a battleship. I think if you ran into the posts with a bus you’d break the bus. The inner row of screws are in holes that are the same size as the screws. The outer screws are in oversize holes to allow a bit of movement. The screws have neoprene washers under their steel cup washers.Since you’re here…I would like to upgrade to gold member status but I just paid for silver. I did not realize at the time that I would not be able to access the design help section. I emailed you about this but got no responce. Anything you can do?

Thank you so much for helping me with the design for this sign. (You suggested the curved lettering.)
