Well I have only ever used normal self tappers from screwfix etc.
Just don’t overtighten as the cladding is thin and at least one every 500mm on the top rail. Use a fairly thick screw thread.
    Never had one fall off!

tech screws, or self tapers like has been said.

i use tech screws with the open threads for soft metals like the plasitcol metal cladding on buildings.
much quicker and with a better grip as they come with a rubber washer fitted. you will need "full thread techs"

Hilti – bag of cladding screws. Can’t go wrong – self cutting, with washer.

The self drilling screws I use are too wide to put in panatrim because of the bolt type head. What ones are you using Rob and Dave?

I use eurotrim 100, and sometimes don’t bother with the washers / take them off. Hilti cladding (grey) comes with them…the (gold) course thread ones don’t. It’s a tight squeeze even using a proper holder…but it’s fast, easy and really secure.
