  • Shadowlab on a bitmap

I am trying to put a shadow on a bitmap using shadowlab but I am getting an error message ‘This filter requires a selection or a layer with transparency’
I have checked through Signlabs help section and it appears the bitmap has to have an ‘alpha channel’ or transparency layer. I have checked this via GIMP and the bitmap does have a transparency layer, but still shadowlab will not work. Any advice would be appreciated.
What little hair I have left is under threat!

Steve is it just a square bitmap or a shape as in text?

I’m assuming you also created the bitmap using Signlabs eyecandy effect. That being the case you should still have the vector drawn version of the image prior to creating the bitmap. This vector is what Signlab uses to base the shadow on as I understand it. If you have inadvertantly deleted the vector you will need to go back and start again.

If you want the bitmap to cast a shadow it will need creating as a separate
    layer
I have post in of topic to see if this is what you are after
