    Hi Everyone,

    Hope we are all well!

I wondered what do you need to do to a CE5000-60 to service it or keep it running smoothly? Can you do it yourself?

Or is it a professionals job? if so what costs would we be looking at?

That’s not an easy question to answer really Craig because it is going to depend on how good people are with mechanical and electronic equipment and their level of confidence. I know some people who won’t even change a fuse in a plug and are wary of anything mechanical or electrical.

Don’t actually think there is much you really need to do maintenance wise to keep them running smoothly for years so it’s not a difficult job, what does the manual say about maintenance.

I’ll hold my hands up. I haven’t looked in the manual. 😛

I’ll have a look see what it says.

    Hi Craig,
i’d been wondering the same thing, so i looked in the graphtec section on this forum and found some other people had asked the question already. So have a read there and you can find some info i think.

Unless it’s been heavily used & abused it should be fairly maintenance free for 3-4 years.

My Summa D120 was working as good as day one and although going through a ton of blades and 1 holder (disintegrated) was spot on (5 1/2 years)

If you are handy with a screwdriver – blow the dust out of the casing & use an appropriate lube for the moving parts (pulleys, pivots etc.) DO NOT just ‘skoosh WD40 all over it’ – if it’s got old grease showing…grease it with high performance grease.

New cutting strips are available from most retailers / distributors of the machines as are blade holders…anything more indepth & normally it’s a return to manufacturer for an overhaul…but £££ will be flowing from your pocket.
