service pack 2
hi
since service park 2 invaded my machine i cant use a dos programme any more and my epson 9500 wont print a file bigger than 40meg.befoe pack 2 all ok
my win 98 machine does it all perfectly
any ideas please chris

I assume you problems are with XP.
Not sure if this will help or no but here goes.
Click start
select my computer
find the prog file .exe
Right mouse click and select properties
select the compatability tab.
select compatability mode
use the drop down box and select win 98.Hope that works for ya.
Going back now to kicking the pc60, as i’ve still not got it to work.

At least you aint got the DNS cant find server error even after a format downloaded SP 2 and it did exactly the same again on the brother in laws computer. Think I’ve got a fix for it though will find out later tonight.

I thought you could uninstal the service pack for XP it adds a restore point or did on the computer I put it on, not done it on the work computer yet though.

spot on alan, but you don’t need to uninstall it if anyone has loaded sp2 and is having problems go to the nearest restore point before you installed sp2!! 😛
i am not touching it until well into the new year 😮 when all the bugs are fixed, it’s okay to install on a split new machine!! 😀 😀

A friend of mine who builds / repairs p.cs for a living says that SP2 is fine on clean installs but a no-no as an upgrade. As Nik says , I would leave well alone until all the issues have been sorted.
