Hi all. I thought I would add to the rants about selling signs and customer relations.
First a question. Do you need to be on valium when you sell signs?

I quoted a simple router cut 20mm foamex letter job to a couple of nice ladies, had a good report with them and was about to get their approval to start the job when I got an email saying so and so wants to talk with you. So I spent 1/2 hour driving over there in traffic and met so and so. Turns out he has a graphics company and was kind of trying to throw hid weight around say he knew this guy and that ect…, And the reason he wasn’t doing it was because he was busy. Then he tried to get me to come down on my price by 50 pounds. I then realized why I was talking to robert. I told him I would not come down and I would need 1/2 down to start the job. When I got home I shot an email to them explaining I had to revise the bid because of the extra trip talking to so and so and because I got the impression that the rest of the work would be going to this guy and that so the new total was nearly double.
II expected them to just drop me but I got an email saying they didn’t realise I had an extra trip fee and would I please waive it this time and assured me I would get the rest of their work.
There is just something about being played for a fool that I really don’t like so I told them my time is not free so the fee would stand……I doubt I will hear back from them. lol
