    Hi Guys

I have been offered a second hand (2-3 year old) Graphtec CE 5000-60 plotter and windows 7 PC cutting using Correl. I am currently using a creation p cut 630 cutting with Flexi 7.6. would the graphtec be a good upgrade or would I be better buying a new cutter? any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    John

    Hi John
In my opinion the Graphtec plotter is a Rolls Royce of a cutter so I would encourage you to do the upgrade. As ling as its in the condition you have been led to believe you could save yourself a small fortune by buying the 2nd user one
    Hope that helps

Thanks Mark, what software do you cut with? I’ve never had any experience with Corel

    Hi John

Over the years I have gained the knowledge of what works best.
You can use Signlab or Flexisign if you don’t get on with Corel draw.
    Thanks

Signlab is by far the best sign making software i know of.
ive been using it for as long as i can remember…

we run graphtec cutters too, have had roland also which are also great and last.
the best 3 leaders in vinyl cutters "in my opinion" are Graphtec, Roland, Summa.

Just noticed your post there. If you look at the creation and misc cutter forums you will see I was in the same boat as you trying to decide if it was worth the extra cash or not. I love my Graphtec now and cut using the corel plug in which is basically a scaled down version of flexi. I am however thinking of investing on signlab but I wil see how it go’s. I still have my creation as well as they are good back up machines. Good luck with the new machine.

Hi Ewan, thanks hope your going well with the cutter, I have gone down a similar route for the minute but amusing Adobe illustrator, but may well move up to Signlab.

Andrew the CE5000-60 was on a well known auction site but I think it was sold, for the money extra for me the CE6000-60 was a better purchase.
