    Hui Guys.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for my Seal laminator.

We only bought it a couple of months from an auction.

Its cost quite a lot more then I expected to remove it from their premises and install at ours (£1400.00 to be precise)

Someone come out a couple of weeks ago and put it together, we had no issues for a couple of weeks, now all of a sudden the top roller just keeps moving up and down, if we put our hand in front of the sensor, nothing happens.

    Any suggestions?

I have to say I am wishing i just bought a new one now 🙄

Is it an pressure controlled top roller? Maybe a loose connection on the power somewhere – when the machine is switched off (on our 600 model anyway) if the roller isnt already in the up position it’ll go up to stop the rollers being at rest squashed together.

As for the sensor – is this with the foot pedal control? On ours if you use the main switch on the control panel to push the media through it’ll stop if the sensor is interrupted – if you’re on the foot pedal it’ll carry on but peep at you to wake you up 🙄

Failing that speak to Simon Dobson at laaco laminates – knows his stuff on these machines

    Andy.

    Thanks for your reply.

It appears to be a sensor issue, last night, I took off the left hand side cover & the on the sensor ‘receiver’ the green light was barely flickering.

To put this to the test, I put a small square of reflective on a bit of foamex and offered it up about 2 inches away from the actual sensor, as soon as I did this I noticed the green light constantly stay on.

I have contacted the guys who installed it (spit) he slightly muttered it was the problem they had, I explained again the issue and said it wasn’t the same issue, then went on to try and baffle me with some jargon, only to finish up telling me they only really specialised in dismantling and repairing screen benches.

Funny he didn’t mention that when taking £900.00 for me for the service.
