Scrim Banner?
Posted by Jason Xuereb on 3 April 2007 at 06:10I see this term being thrown out a lot. What is a scrim banner?

Scrim Banner is a gloss or matte opaque PVC banner material. Designed for large-format inkjet printers, consists of a tear-resistant polyester fabric embedded between two white vinyl layers. It’s also ideal for indoor and outdoor applications, is water-resistant and flexible. Most blockout banners are scrim banners, but not all banners have the middle layer.
Usually, the cheaper the banner, or lighter the weight (gsm) the less likely they are a scrim banner.
Scrim banners typically hang better, and last longer.

Over here Scrim Banner seems to mean different things to different people.
Clients have asked me for scrim when they actually mean PVC Mesh or even just cheap!
Sorry – probably haven’t helped have I?
Chaos, disorder and confusion – my work here is done. 😉
Cheers. Nick.
