    Morning all,

Can any of you good people recommend a trade box box of Stainless steel screws for general sign installation? wanted a good selection box to leave in the van.

    Thanks 😀

I got a box with compartments in and filled it with tek screws, various self tappers, rawl plugs, plasterboard/hollow wall fixings, rivets, white torx screws etc etc. I’ve never seen a trade pack with all the screws in it that I use. With all those packs you will run out of some very quickly, but be stuck with some for ever!

    Why stainless?

I find that so long as the screws are of good quality & coated (zinc, japaned, ‘gold’) then they don’t rust unless immersed in salty water! And even better when capped off in coloured caps that seal them in. (Pro-Dec)

Favour Hilti for most of our fixings (hammer-ins, tec-bolts, some self tapping / self drilling screws) and B&Q trade for the rest of the assortment…and any special stuff such as ‘thunderbolts’ ordered online (you’ll probably never use expanding bolts again!!)

    Thanks guys

John: That make sense hadn’t thought of the ones you get stuck with!

Dave: I thought stainless was what everyone was using, over kill I will have a look at the others.

    Thanks again
