do screens have a shelf life once you’ve put a design on them?

what have you used for the stencil Neil?
Emulsion or film?
-
Not done any yet Glenn, but it’ll be emulsion.
Asking because I do a lot of repeat orders for local schools where text/logo never changes.
-
To be perfectly honest I have never used emulsions but this should give you a guide…
Autotype products are available from Sericol so if you gave them a ring they would be able to advice on your exact situation regarding type of ink, length of run etc etc

Hi Neil,
Aslong as the emulsion was in date and fresh when the screen was coated, the screen was exposed correctly and all ink taken off afterwards your screens should last a long time. I’ve had stencils on for years and used many times before washing off.Cheers John

Most contemporary emulsions are durable. My experience is that stencils last for few thousand prints when you print long runs. At your case I understand that you do not print long runs but many reprints in short runs. I think in that case durability depends on that if you use water base or vinyl inks. Cleaning itself could be more aggressive on stencils than printing.
